Blue Dragon*
(Polman & Norwine)
Is there really a dragon up in that
tree?
Why yes there is and he's blue as can be
He's got lots of friends, acquaintances and such
Daryl the dragon are ya ready for lunch?
Blue blue dragon, watcha doin' up there?
Blue blue dragon, aren't you scared?
Blue blue dragon, come down and play
Come on down Daryl, it's a beautiful day
Daryl, Daryl, what is wrong?
Why won't you come down with us and play ball?
Daryl Daryl why are you so blue?
Is there anything your friends can do?
Daryl, why ya' sleeping and snoozing
the whole day?
This is no way to enjoy life, friends and play
We are really worried cause you're wearing a frown
Daryl your friends love you; from your tree come on down
Well you see it's like this; I'm down and I'm blue
The other dragons pick on me cause I'm friends with you
They said I should only play with dragons like myself
But you are my friends; you're a wonderful bunch
Daryl wondered and pondered what to do about this?
Should he huff and puff or should he show them his fist?
But Daryl knew his problem shouldn't be solved with a fight
So he thought some more and he gained an insight
I know something that is true
Their words say more about them then they do about you
I have to be me and you have to be you
And we like who we like no matter what others do
The dragons made fun Of Daryl's friends
with all of their might.
They tried to get Daryl to start a big fight
But he remembered the words that he knew to be true
And then Daryl stopped feeling quite so blue
I love you songbirds; I love you
owl
I love you bunnies and all my other pals
These words are true; they're wonderful and right
What a wonderful thing to have friends by my side
So if other kids are picking on you
Remember the moral of this story when Daryl was blue
Remember his insight and know that it's true
Their words say more about them then they do about you
Their words say more about them then they do about you
